My sister had a baby girl today - Jasmine Noel Gibbs-Reed. I am told 21" and 8.3 pounds (though it might have been 8 pounds, 3 ounces -- this is a bit unclear). In either case, a goodly sized baby.

Yes, it shares my birthday. :)

Thank you, and welcome to my friends list. Took a couple minutes looking to make an educated guess as to who you are, but I think I have guessed correctly.

*hugs*

Happy Birthday to Jasmine and to you.

And I'm pleased to see a Jasmine spelled in the usual way. I have a niece named Jazzmyn, and I cringe whenever I type it.

Well, I'm assuming that's how Jasmine is spelled -- I haven't actually seen how my sister spells it, only heard it pronounced -- but my mom did have it on a written note, and I'm absolutely positive she'd have commented on the strange spelling if the spelling was strange.

Happy Birthday Uncle Dave (I have 2 uncle Daves)

Probably 8-3 (8lb 3oz) because the scales don't actually register in decimal points of a pound. Decimal points of an ounce, yes, and grams to the nearest 5g.

And Happy Birthday Jasmine.

Yeah, that was my thought -- but my mom reported that the friend of my sister who called said 8.3 lbs. We figured (as you did) that it was probably 8lbs 3 oz.

Glad for the good news.
