I did something to my back/shoulder/neck area, right side. I'm not sure what -- but it is incredibly tight and knotted. Moving my right shoulder hurts, turning my head very far hurts, brushing my hair or putting in a ponytail holder hurts. I hope climbing this evening works ok. I may not be very good at looking up and making suggestions, though. And, I don't remember what did this -- maybe trying to sleep on the plane? I don't remember pulling it climbing.

seems to be going around. i slept on mine funny last week with similar results, though it's better now. and have run into at least two other people complaining of similiar issues.

Professional bodywork/massage. Or if you know someone who can fix it for free or exchange, that works too.
Other than that; my sympathy and empathy. *hugs gently*

I know massage is the way to go. I just have to find time. I'm flying out of town again Friday morning.

That sounds like it might be a pinched nerve. Go to someplace that does chiropracty and massage therapy; it's worth it. Otherwise it can take ages to unpinch. When I first got one, I held out for two or three days with no improvement before I gave into the need to spend money.

The chiropractor also told me that you should ice it rather than heat it, at first, because when your muscles cool down they just knot back up.

I think it is just muscular from the way it reacts when I move/pull on it. Also, it has been easing off over the last couple days. Climbing yesterday, working the muscle, combined with some extra stretches while climbing, seems to have helped.
