off to Conclave

Today I'm off to Conclave -- sf convention in Lansing Michigan. Was planning to ride, but the weather reports, combined with the wind and ice pellets/hail this morning has suggested to me that maybe driving is the better choice.

Plans include overnighting with friends in Toronto, then lunch with another friend on Friday, convention, then overnight Sunday with friends in Ann Arbor, and a return in time for a poly discussion group in Ottawa, Monday evening. Should be a busy (long) weekend.

How far south do they ship you on business these days, anyway?

Sorry, eviljohn -- didn't make it down to Ann Arbour after all -- overnighted on Sunday in Sarnia.

As far as south on business... well, it varies. Phoenix, Arizona is probably the farthest south I've been sent, and unfortunately I've yet to be sent to Texas. I've got people I'd be happy to visit in Austin, Dallas, and Houston.

Hm.... looks like there might be a business trip to Texas in January sometime...not confirmed yet, but very likely. Don't know where in Texas, though.
