Classic Games

While I was in California, I went to Mecca, that is, to Fry's Electronics.

While I was there, I picked up a few classic strategy games -- mostly in multi-game boxed sets. (Which means I did get a couple games I wasn't really looking for, like Risk II.) What I did get were:

Europa Unversalis
Patrician II
Civilisation II
Age of Empires
Majesty

I'm currently learning how to play Europa Universalis.

Are you talking about the board or the computer versions?

Thought the version numbers, and the "Fry's Electronics" might have made that clear.

I figured as much but one can hope one has a friend who owns a copy of the board game Europa Universalis.

I think you taught me the basics of EU (board game) when I was at your place one time. I don't think I did too well.

In fact, part of what leads me to that thought, is that the computer game has this vague feeling of familiarity to it.

That was Soldier Kings: the Seven Years War at Conclave and you were doing well I just got good card pulls. The next year might have gone your way.

Its simpler than Europa Universalis the board game.

Right, though wasn't it after Conclave, back at your place Sunday evening?

Hm... sounds like EU is a not-so-simple board game. Cause Soldier Kings was moderately complex itself.
