climbing - real rock!
Jun. 7th, 2007 06:21 pmWent climbing with two local guys on some real rock (on the Swabian Alb) -- about a 20m (60 ft) cliff. One guy was just a little bit better than me, the other quite a bit better -- but that was fine. The really better guy did the lead climb up the routes, and the other two of us top-roped them (with me usually going second, and cleaning the route).
It was a lot of fun, but I'm now very dirty and tired.

Date: 2007-06-08 04:42 am (UTC)Once, about 20 years ago, I did rock-climbing with ropes and stuff for a day with a guy from university.
Also, I've gone scrambling and climbing stuff that I probably shouldn't have been doing without protection on the hills and rock outjuts around the lake at my cottage.
But, since I've started seriously rock climbing, this is the first time I've gone out, properly equipped, and climbed on real rock.
I hope to have some pictures to post, if any turn out, when I get home.
