Climbing in Germany!

Made it out to the climbing gym in Stuttgart this evening. While talking to the desk clerk about maybe finding a group to climb with, someone checking in asked if I was looking for a climbing partner this evening, and asked me to join his group. He spoke pretty good English, one other spoke some English, most of the rest, just a bit. Climbed a few interesting routes, though they were climbers of the socialize & climb type, rather than just climb, climb, climb. Still, good climbers.

And, he asked if I was doing anything on Thursday, which is my day off, and when I said no, he invited me to join him and a friend climbing real rock with them. Double-woot! That should be a lot of fun, and I'm really looking forward to it.

Cool. I don't remember that as part of a Christmas present, but cool. With Jim & Randy, and the climbing on Thursday, I may be familiar with real rock in no time.

I didn't lead-climb with these guys on Monday, but most of what they did was lead climbing, so I was belaying for a couple of lead climbs, and cleaned a couple routes afterwards, too. So, I'm part way there. :)
