Cangames - day 1

First evening at Cangames. I had signed up for Shogun, thinking it would be a chance to try the new Shogun that I had looked at purchasing. Turns out it was the old Shogun, that I had played a couple decades ago. I thought I owned it, too, but apparently not. Dunno who did, then.

gabriel_le had her first game (2pm) cancelled by GM no-show, and her 2nd game (Junta this evening) cancelled by no players, so she played Shogun, too.

I may come on Sunday - I want to play the evening Lord of Rings game. I'm sad that I can't come today but i want house gaming.

I would have preferred house gaming actually. I have a very hard time absorbing the rules when they are listed at the beginning of the game, and so would prefer a practice round or two with someone akin to a tutor - something you can't find at a convention.

Also, a brand-new game, with getting exhausted from rule-learning, should not last four hours...especially for me. I find myself trying to find creative and discrete ways to throw the game so that I could get out of it sooner. 1-2 hours is enough.

I don't know how I am going to get through the other five time-slots I have organised for myself.

Anyway, that's my ranting. I'm exhausted, frustrated that I can't really learn the games, and sick of being sick (which has nothing really to do with this weekend, but keeps me from getting work done in between gaming sessions as I want to take naps instead).

Cangames ends on Sunday, so you could have had house gaming on Monday, and gone to more of Cangames.

Hope house gaming goes well.

I'm primarily using Cangames to play-test a bunch of games -- decide if I want to buy them, rather than competitively.
