Going to Peoria.

At 4:59pm today, it is confirmed that I'm going to Peoria.

This means I have to figure out what I want to do for transportation in Michigan. I may quickly look into rental cars -- there may be something reasonable. Otherwise, public transit, or lifts from friends.

And, find somewhere to stay on Sunday evening.

I've been to Peoria before. It isn't the smallest place I've been. Of course, neither is it the hub of excitement.

And, yes, I'm not worried about finding somewhere to stay Sunday night.

I'm at the hotel Friday & Saturday night. My flight out will be on Monday.

So... I need somewhere to sleep Sunday night -- and I'd rather not pay for a hotel room that night. If I can sleep at a friends place, that would be far more awesome.

I would think your company would have to reimburse you for the hotel since they booked you so very last minute.

The Detroit part of the trip is my stuff -- QNX would normally fly me from Ottawa, and I'd sleep at home Sunday night.

They are splitting my flight, with the long stopover in Detroit, which may actually add to the cost of the flight. Then again, that just gets forwarded to the customer.

That would be awesome! IIRC you have gear and helmet I could borrow, too, so I don't have to haul that on the plane. Or should I plan on bringing my helmet at least?

Grabbing a taxi to your place from the airport shouldn't be too expensive, either -- you're not too far. Or airport shuttle, or something like that.

I have a jacket you can wear, and a selection of helmets. Pants are more difficult. You might want to discuss that with Michael, he's got a few pairs that might fit you, not sure of sizes. Spare gloves of mine would probably be small on you but gloves pack small.

I think I've borrowed a pair of Michael's pants before -- they were a touch short, but otherwise fine.

I'll pack gloves.

It looks like my flight will arrive around 2pm. Assuming no luggage retrieval problems, should be to your place for around 3pm.
