Walking back to my car from the Indian restaurant this evening I spotted a Thai restaurant! Wootness. Tom Kha Gai soup for dinner tomorrow. :)

Yay happy food!

Although, personally, I am also a fan of Jägerschnitzel and Spätzle.

Sure, to each their own. Whatever it was you said, anyway. :)

BTW, anything I should be bringing for your houseopening?

Chiefly yourself!

I will have drinks, both with and without alcohol, and nibblies. If there is something specific that you prefer, you should bring it. There is no obligation to bring anything. I just want friends to help me celebrate my new house.

No particularly German treat I should look for on your behalf, then, I guess.

Ok, I'll bring myself, and celebrate your new house, and admire the paint in your new house.

Duh!! I just realize that you are in Germany! Bring back board games! How much spare space do you have in your luggage? ;-)

I'm especially looking for Gun$ 'n Ca$h & Pitchcar. But if you get a change to go to a gaming store and see what they've got I can tell you what I'm interested in.

Yes, I'm in Germany.

I don't know if there is a game store in Hanover, but I'll look.

I know that I've seen Pitchcar in a games store in Montreal, so it should be available in North America.

I don't know about Gun$ 'n Ca$h, though. It is the one with the foam guns, right? I'll take a look around if I find a games store.

Oddly, at a rest stop on the highway, in the rack of music CDs I saw one labelled as "Die Siedler von Catan". As far as I could tell looking at it (it was in German) is that it was, in fact, a music CD, but Settlers marketed. So odd, from a North American point of view.

There is apparently a CD audio book that is an abridged version of a novel by the same name based on the world that is the setting for the game.

Yup, that looks like it.

Still makes my point -- game -> novel -> audiobook would never happen at home from a board game, they're just too niche an audience.

I tried for a game store this evening, but was unsuccessful in locating it. :(
