I looked at the options -- Prague was interesting, but too far for a day trip, and I wasn't sure that I could take my rental car there.

So, I went to Denmark, in particular, I went to a little town call Aabenraa in Denmark. So, now I've touched the Baltic Sea (or, at least, the water in fjord off the Baltic Sea), and been to Denmark. Northern central Germany is pretty boring driving, mostly flat. And, unfortunately, no castles to look at. I think they're more common around hills, and along river valleys -- or the hills beside river valleys, as I do remember seeing a bunch when I was cycling along the Mosel & Rhine rivers.

Driving down the highway at 190 km/h (120 mph), and not having to worry about and look for cops is sweet. And, you still get passed at that speed. :)

the roads are made for those speeds though...I felt safer driving at 160-250km/h than I did 100-160km/hr, and not just because of the people around me being annoyed with my pace, =).

I can understand the control issue. I ride a motorcycle a lot of places, and I've also ridden on the back of someone else's a few times. I prefer being in control than relinquishing the control -- even though I have generally trusted the person driving.

no, I get it. You don't know if you can trust the driver or not, especially in dangerous circumstances like that. =)
