Damage estimates
Nov. 7th, 2015 08:50 amThe body shop called, and the damage is about $5300. It is almost completely front end, as I hoped. Bumper, grilled, mounts, radiator, fan, condenser, and some engine protection plates that were ripped off. So, looks like after I was riding up on the tire, things went smoothly -- just the initial impact was bad.
Of the humans, Kathleen who was riding with me, has concussion and whiplash effects -- she was still healing from a previous accident. From the other car, I saw Kate last night, and she seems fine. She has a scrape and some bruising on one hand, but, as she puts it, she regularly does worse to herself climbing. Ariela seems stiff, and may be looking at massage therapy/physio, not yet clear. And Helen unfortunately has a cracked vertabra in her neck -- so she'll be wearing a fancy collar for at least two months, before returning for evaluation. Given how bashed up Helen's car was, this is a surprising light set of injuries.
