Day 8 - Nevada Granite
Dec. 16th, 2012 09:27 pmAgain, waiting for Red Rocks to dry, we went to a granite (ok, quartz monzonite) crag a bit south-east of Las Vegas. The approach included driving across back-country desert tracks, which made trying to get a service vehicle there after Mike locked the keys in the car a bit tricky. (He did have CAA, but describing exactly where we were, and how to get there, was tricky.)
We didn't have a lot of guide information, so I lead some adventure slab stuff, probably about 5.3 -- dunno if it was climbed before, probably. Later someone else showed up with a guide, but I couldn't find any note of what we'd climbed. We then top-roped a couple routes. Not a lot of climbing -- lots of time was lost to waiting for road service.
