Good day of skiing.
Feb. 7th, 2011 04:50 pmI had a good day of skiing at Mont Tremblant today with mnv_iii. We got up way too early this morning and drove up, and we're now in a hotel in the town of Mont Tremblant. I'm sure this section of Quebec used to be called St-Jovite, and that the village of Mont Tremblant was up closer to the ski hill, but maybe the name has changed of something. (The latest signs seem to have it as Mont Tremblant, and my GPS labelled this postal code as Mont Tremblant -- but Google maps shows St-Jovite.)
Conditions were good to excellent -- there was snow falling all day which made things quite nice. Visibility on the south side and at the top were pretty bad -- but once you got a 10 or 20 meters below the top on the north side, it was quite reasonable. I'm still skiing pretty well, despite not having gotten out in 2-3 years, too. Though, I will say that I'm feeling my quads in a way I haven't in a long time.
