I am almost up to date on LJ. Except, you see, when you reach skip=750, LJ won't let you skip backwards any further. So I am missing some posts between July 18th and 21st.
Thursday looks reasonable for taking the bike to Montreal -- well, env Canada says it looks good, while the weather network says it looks ok. Monday coming home looks more likely to be wet, but that doesn't matter as much.
So. it looks like I'll have a bike in Montreal. I expect I will pay for hotel parking -- I wonder if it they will charge less for the bike than for a car.
I am SO looking forward to a shower that has more than 1.5 minutes (approximately) of hot water.

Last airport -> Ottawa bus. 10:55pm. My arrival at airport: 11:03pm. Doh.
At least I already have a hotel in Montreal for Thursday night. :)
I wonder if the hotel has a shuttle bus? More reasearch...
I can, maybe, stand-by an earlier flight... that would work better. Won't know on that until tomorrow, though.

amazing, but true
Aug. 5th, 2009 08:01 pmBefore this trip I purchased a sleeping bag liner and a thermarest at MEC. Both came with little carrying bags they were nicely tucked up in. In a major miracle, when I came to repack to come home both of them FIT BACK IN THEIR LITTLE BAGS. I was utterly shocked. The sleeping bag liner took a bit of a fight, but thermarest went easily.
Found a belt
Aug. 5th, 2009 08:42 pmApparently a previous inhabitant of this hotel room left a belt (I think I'm reasonable in assuming his) belt in the room. Unfortunately it is too long to resolve my problem with my jeans. I'm sure when I bought them they weren't too big -- they were comfortable -- but now they are way too loose around the waste. As in I can easily fit a fist between the waist band and me, that is, with room to spare. I need a belt with them, but apparently this belt, at its smallest hole, is just about the same size. Oh well, I thought I'd had a problem solved.
