Saved $60 and other stories of Friday
Jan. 10th, 2009 09:53 amI took commodorified shopping for boots at MEC just after work yesterday -- she needed winter boots and couldn't make the trip due to lack of bus. And lack of bus, of course, made the need even stronger. While she was there, I noticed the bargain books table with a whole bunch of books at $4 each. I picked up climbing guide books to three areas (that I may never climb) for a savings of almost $60 on their regular price. What a bargain!
Afterwards we had Pho, then I invited her and raynedaze and iclysdale back to my place for social and some Port or Madeira or whatever was going. Shortly thereafter, foms called about food, and I described the situation. foms, iclysdale and con_girl congregated on my place for food that iclysdale procured, and we spent a very pleasant evening sitting in front of the fire and talking, and drinking. Also, many more of my left-over Christmas goodies from various parties have now been consumed. Yay!
All in all, it was a really good evening.
