I arrived last night around 2:30 in the morning, quite tired, and went to bed immediately.

Hm... shopping time between when I get home and my party is going to be very limited. I'm sure the LCBO will be closed on the 25th, 26th, and 28th. I might get time on the 24th, but I wouldn't bet on being in town soon enough. I really should have thought ahead.

So, is anyone planning to visit the LCBO between now and then? If so, would you mind picking up a bottle (or two) of Scotch for me?

con_girl suggested Teacher's as a good blended.
niall_ suggested GlenMorangie as a reasonable single malt.

I would, of course, pay you back.

The weather hasn't been the best for travel the last few days -- but I've also avoided doing any distance during the worst of the falls. I'm hoping the trip back to Toronto, then Ottawa, tomorrow and Wednesday don't go too badly. The weather, again, looks mixed. Some snow, but not huge dumps, so maybe the main roads will stay in decent shape.

Sunday I took my sister and partner out to lunch. They're both grad students at York, so they're on strike right now and don't have a lot of money. We didn't go anywhere fancy, but did find a decent local Mexican place and quite enjoyed the food.

After that, I headed for Guelph and had dinner with athena_51. After dinner, I taught her and J how to play Thurn and Taxis, then Tsuro. They seemed to enjoy both games -- apparently they are a nice change from Carcassonne which they appear to play quite a bit. No other games, just Carcassonne. (Well, with some expansions.)

The drive from their place to Michigan was moderate. Blowing snow of differing strength for much of the way, but I mostly was able to maintain 80-90 km/h the whole way, with occasional parts past London where things were better and I made it up to around 110. I chose to go through Windsor, but regretted it when I found that the area where the bridge ends is still under major construction -- you get routed onto some smallish streets to wander around through 4-way stops to find the highway. Yuck. Luckily at 1:45am there isn't much traffic, so this wasn't horribly slow, just annoying.

And thank you everyone for your comments and thoughts. I've read them all, even if I haven't responded to them.
