I think I've found a good group of people to climbioutdoors with. We all climb at close to the same level, several of us have gear, most of us have cars, we enjoy climbing with each other, and we're all looking to climb about once a week outside. With a group, if one or two don't make any particular weekend, the group still goes out, keeping momentum up.
We went out to Calabogie again today. We climbed some of the stuff we'd done last week, but two of us set up top-ropes on a couple climbs and then spent some time cleaning some new stuff that we hadn't climbed before. Mostly scraping/scrubbing lichen, moss, and dirt off the routes, but also removing the occasional loose rock, branches, or small tree that were in the way. One route was named and rated in the local guide to the area, but the other was not. It may have been climbed before, but it may not have been -- it pretty clearly hasn't been climbed in a good number of years. Both were quite enjoyable climbs after we got them mostly cleaned up.
There is a LOT of cliff at Calabogie, and we may be spending a fair bit of time both climbing and also cleaning/developing lines out there.
