Albuquerque airport
Feb. 29th, 2008 09:08 amI arrive to check-in and find that my flight to Chicago is delayed due to weather. Online resources suggest that in fact Chicago actually is delaying flight arrival. I look to be about 2 hours late into Chicago, but I've got a long enough stop-over that that still will leave me about an hour to get my flight to Ottawa. Of course, that one could easily be delayed as well. So, who knows when I'll actually get home this evening. *sigh*
Still, Albuquerque seems a decent place to be delayed. Free wifi internet access (that seems to run at a decent speed) and lots of tables with chairs and power strips along the back of the table for us laptop users to work at. I wish all airports were so nicely setup. I've grown to loathe the wander in search of a power outlet game.

In Chicago
Feb. 29th, 2008 01:04 pmIn United's Red Carpet Club (frequent flyer lounge). We were only an hour late out of Albuquerque, rather than the two I was originally warned of, and my flight to Ottawa is (currently) posted as a 50 minute delay. We shall have to see.
I also have to say that, of the Star Alliance lounges I have visited (AC and Lufthansa in addition to United), United's are the chintziest with the least in the way of amenities.
At least they have a few "open" computers, even if they don't offer free wireless access.
