Was up until 3:30 last night -- my dumb. (Master of Magic). Then didn't sleep very well. Up this morning at 8:30.
Left the house just after 9:30, for climbing, didn't get back until 7:15pm.
Went to The Shrine, first. Led a 5.7 (again), and climbed it a 2nd time. Tried to lead a 5.8, failed. Did it on top-rope. Tried to lead another 5.8, same result. Discovered the "5.8" I tried to climb yesterday was really a 5.10 and I'd read the topo wrong. Had climbed everything in our skill range at The Shrine, but weren't done, so hiked out, drove to parking for Western Cwm, and hiked in to Western Cwm, Spindrift wall again. Did 3 more ascents up Spindrift wall.
Note: for those playing at home, I climb 5.9-5.10 in the gym. Real rock is different. And the ratings on the Eardley Escarpment tend to be... tough. I've got a (PDF) book that says that adding 2 to the rating is generally a good rule of thumb. (Maybe not at the top end, but definitely for anything under 5.10-5.11.)
And I need to get the place cleared up for a horde gamers to descend tomorrow. Not happening tonight. I'll do it tomorrow morning, I guess.
