Empty Weekend

The rest of my weekend is empty. What do I do?

Laundry should be done, but isn't exciting.

Climbing could happen, but don't have belay partner arranged.

Then again, I could conquer the world again. That's always fun. Have to decide which world, or worlds, to conquer, though.

netmouse tagged me for the 8 random things about me meme. My resistance is low right now, so I'll do it:

1. I almost never participate in LJ memes, or if I do, I do so in comments directly on someone else's post of the meme, rather than in my journal. But, I was looking for stuff to do this weekend, so my resistance was lowered.

2. I own around 2000 books. Most of them, approaching almost all of them are SF or fantasy. My rate of accumulation is lower than it used to be, and less steady -- they now tend to accumulate in sudden lumps, often when someone else is purging a collection rather than through a steady stream of second-hand bookstore shopping.

3. I have ridden more than 230,000 kms on motorcycles. (I have 70,000 on my current Concours, I had 160,000 km on my previous Concours, I road a CB450 for a year before that, and a GS650 for 3 years before that. I don't know how many kms I put on each of them. Almost definitely the total is over 250,000 probably around 270,000 km.) (In miles: 230,000 is 144,000; 270,000 is 169,000.)

4. I'm really bad at remembering dates. History class was hell -- I could never remember when something happened. Birthdays are bad -- I'm still not sure I have my mom's birthday right, and remembering for partners has always been a struggle. Other numbers -- not really a problem. We had a combination lock when I was 5 or so, it's combination was 6-32-10. The one we had a couple years later was 51-36-6.

5. I have 2 sisters, both younger than me, but no brothers.

6. I currently have bottles of 7 different types of Port in my house, and empty bottles for 3 more.

7. I use an iron as a door stop.

8. In my life I've only owned two (2) 45s. They were Pop Musik by M and Video Killed the Radio Star by The Buggles. (I do realize that the concept of "owning 45s" probably dates me. And, even if it didn't -- those two songs would.)


Not sure how "random" those facts were -- humans aren't really good at randomness. And, I'm not going to "tag" anyone. But, hey, if you feel drawn to this meme, don't let my not tagging you stop you from meming.
