Did I forget to tell it not to rain?
Oct. 3rd, 2006 12:28 pmYesterday morning was cloudy, but I had ridden to work in a while, so I rode to work. It cleared up beautifully, and was sunny by noon, and wonderful for riding around by the end of the day. I even did errands with gabriel_le by bike, which we both enjoyed -- she hadn't been out on the bike in a too long as well.
Today, it looked about the same, so I decided to ride again. Oops, the weather went the other direction, and it is now raining. Yuck. I hope it stops by time to go home, or I'll have to put my rain gear on.
Also on the motorcycle topic, a couple weeks ago I bought a new pair of motorcycle boots that were on end-of-season sale for $130 or so. (My current pair are old enough and worn enough that they leak water through the sole if I walk in water that is about 1/2 cm (1/4 inch) deep.) They are made by Teknic, and not plain black (as I prefer) but at least the colour scheme is red and black, which matches well enough with my bike. Unfortunately, they're nowhere near as comfortable as my old boots -- then again, they're nowhere near as well broken in, either. I do think my old boots were more comfortable right off the top, but they also cost more, and I couldn't find anything that quite matched. And, these are better armoured -- though the harder leather and the plastic bits are also part of the reason they're not as comfortable. I'll have to see how they do as they break in.
