And we had fun. [livejournal.com profile] ragnhildr and [livejournal.com profile] concordantnexus showed up, and D sat in for one game.

Started out with Unexploded Cow and [livejournal.com profile] ragnhildr showed her clear command of the subject of Mad Cows by decisively winning, yet again. And many cows went boom. And there was much rejoicing.

Then we played a game of Samurai won by your correspondent. D sat in for the 2nd game of Samurai and had a clear win in it.

Followed this with two games of Puerto Rico. I won the first decisively, and [livejournal.com profile] concordantnexus pulled out a tight victory in the 2nd.

We played from about 1pm through about 6pm, so 5 games in 5 hours is pretty good. Maybe the time estimates on a couple of the games go down as one becomes more experienced with them. Leads to an interesting question -- when posting a playing time on a box, should it be the playing time first or second times through, when people are learning the game, or should it be the time taken by a group that is more experienced? It is tough, since you may want the posted time to be a reasonable estimate for the people deciding "we haven't played it before, do we have time". But, the other is, possibly, the more long term accurate one. Dunno.

I plan for another gaming day, of course. Just not sure when as of this posting, but a posting for it will come.
