A trip to Detroit with visit(s) to KW

It is almost certain that I will be teaching for GM in Detroit the week of May 3rd. I had really been hoping my bike would be back from the shop in time for this trip, but I just talked to them, and the part they need will be arriving in Toronto (from Japan) on April 28th -- it may not make it to Ottawa in time for them to get me my bike. So, I had been planning to do this trip by bike. I think, if the bike is not ready, I will still do this surface, but will have to be driving instead of on the bike. (Sadness)

So, my tentative plans are to leave Ottawa late the morning of Sunday, May 2 which should get me to the KW area by dinner time on Sunday. (Dinner anyone?) After dinner, I'll proceed to Detroit, arriving latish. I'll spend the week in Detroit, probably making it to Tio's on Tuesday night, but otherwise not yet booked. (Social time?) I'd like to head out after work (5pmish) on Friday, getting me into the KW sometime betweein 8:30 and 10pm, if I can find crash space with someone. Spend the morning and afternoon in KW (social time...) then continue onwards to Ottawa, probably getting home late Saturday night. How late depends, of course, on how late I stay in the KW area.

So, anything exciting happening in KW evening of May 7th, or day of May 8th?

Oooo, almost missed this post!

I think redash and I are in town the weekend of May 7/8, and if so you're welcome to crash with us. Don't know 'bout anything thrilling going on, but there's always dinner and hanging out and maybe a movie or dancing or pub night or some such thing. Or we could head to TO for actual excitement. :) I'll likely see you in Ottawa before then, so we can banter about possibilities in person. Cya soon!

Well, the bit about "excitement" was intended to be hyperbole. And, no, I don't really feel like going to Toronto for excitement, but dancing or something Friday evening might be fun. (Won't still be around for Saturday evening.) And, yes, we can banter when you get to Ottawa... got to figure out some sort of scheduling around that, too.

On the other hand, getting together with friends is a form of excitement. And, that's what I really meant.
