On the whole I had a good time at Penguicon. It was, not unexpectedly, a somewhat different crowd from the other Detroit conventions -- but a goodly set of my friends from the Detroit area were there, and I had a good time hanging out with them.
Note: riding pillion on Kathy's TDM was NOT one of the highlights of the weekend.
P.S. If someone wants to point the track photos out to Dennis, please feel free.
- Meals with friends, including
thatguychuck,
jeffreyab, and
elizilla - Playing with, building with and other wise doing stuff with the rube-goldberg-device construction kit. A few pictures: device, closeup1, closeup2, closeup3
- Playing slot cars, on a track in the Confusion party suite. Track supplied by Dennis. The track looked like: track1 track2 track3
- Riding pillion on the back of Kathy's Vstrom. I haven't ridden pillion in many, many years, and it was kinda neat.
- Getting to ride Kathy's TDM. It is a fun little bike. Well, it's an 850cc bike, but compared to what both Kathy and I are used to, it is a fun little bike.
- Learning how to play Chrononauts. Another fun Looney Labs game.
- Dancing with Kirsten, and later Sandy. Though the music was just so-so, I enjoyed the dancing with friends.
- Dinner with, and
jeffreyab's hospitalty. Thank you Jeff.
