I am teh consumer whore
Oct. 6th, 2006 12:33 amSo, not only did I buy a new LCD monitor earlier this week, but I also bought a bunch of other things at Costco at the same time.
Then, I went to IKEA and bought a couple of furniture items.
And, today, a new digital camera from Best Buy. And, 1GB SD RAM for it. I'd been unhappy with my current camera for a while -- it was an older 2 Megapixel model, though resolution wasn't the issue. It was too big -- it didn't fit in my pocket, so I never took it anywhere and so I didn't use it. But, it worked... so I didn't want to replace it. But, just recently I pulled it out from somewhere and found the glass on the LCD at the back was cracked. Ok... it should still work... but on power on, the lens wouldn't extend and it wouldn't work. So, now the camera I didn't like was, also, dead. No longer had I no justification for not replacing it, so I did. My main requirements: pocketable, physical zoom, SD Ram, AA batteries, price, at least 3 Megapixels. I bought an HP Photosmart R817 -- it only missed on the AA batteries, but it came with 2 Li-Ion batteries, so I considered that an acceptable choice; but 5x optical zoom (most pocket ones were 3x), 5.1 Megapixel, and ok price.

Congrats on escaping from the unhappy-making camera!
