More Friday and Saturday
Aug. 26th, 2006 11:42 pmOn Friday, I did more Newszine work, another masquerade meeting, more newszine, some food in the staff lounge, then masquerade as front-of-stage ninja. The masquerade had 33 entries, some quite impressive. Mostly the presentations were quite well done, but for some reason novices seem to have this bad habit of overly-long presentations for a single costume, that doesn't add much and wastes time. The journeymen and masters seem to not have this issue -- maybe they have learnt better to keep things only as long as they need to be. The post-masquerade "variety show", or maybe burlesque, was also a lot of fun.
Then, over to the rock dance which was poorly signed and announced and a bit tricky to find -- resulting in almost no attendance. I still had some fun dancing, and got some exercise, but there were no pretty girls in attendance to flirt with.
I had much more fun at the far better attended Regency Dance this afternoon. In the 2 hour dance, I learnt (though I don't know how well I'll remember) 5 dances, including "Hole in the Wall", "Margaret's Waltz", and 3 more whose names I don't recall. I did, really, enjoy this. (
kattale, contra-dancing, when?).
And, of course, more newszine work, and soon... off to the parties.
