Gah, what a day
Jul. 31st, 2006 08:22 pmSome good, some bad, some cute.
The bad: I missed another call from gabriel_le, and I missed it by about 10 minutes -- she called about 10 minutes before I stopped for lunch, other side of Toronto. If the traffic/construction through Toronto had been better, I've made the call -- if she'd tried a 2nd time before she left the town she was in, she'd have reached me at lunch. Argh! I haven't talked to her in far too long.
The good: the weather, while hot, was not too hot, and I had a tail wind, so the ride home went relatively smoothly. Unfortunately, without a visit with someone along the way, as the someone was too busy and had to cancel.
The cute: when I got home, I called my parents to find out what the schedule is, since my sister and niece are this side of the country nowish. Mom invited me over for dinner, and my parents are baby-sitting Jasmine (my 18-month old niece) for this week (and maybe next) while my sister takes an advanced French course in Montreal. Jasmine is a darling sweetie -- I think the cutest (pair of) moment(s) was one time when she scampered into sight from somewhere else in the house, and just as she appeared, she said, "There she is." Then, shortly thereafter, she scampered out of sight, and just as she diseappeared she said, "There she goes." So cute.
Now... to book some social time with people in the next couple weeks before I'm off again -- and hopefully get some climbing in!
