My livejournal "friends" page has been far quieter than normal this weekend. Strange that.

But, it is, also a strange experience, at least for me. Used to be, I'd bump in to someone I hadn't seen since the last convention, and we'd spend the 10 minutes (or so) catching up on each other's life. But, with people I keep in contact with through LJ, that just doesn't happen the same way. Odd.

It's specifically because of the changed interactions, or lack of interactions, that cause me *NOT* to email most people.

I greatly prefer picking up a phone to call someone, or perhaps asking them to get together for lunch. Email and LJ greatly changes the social dynamics of friendship, and most of the time I don't like how they're changed.

For the most part I choose not to have intimate contact via email. I much prefer intimate contact face to face, or in the worst case, over the phone. That way you can communicate much better with the non-spoken languages of communications. Maybe not the word you use, but how you say it.

And here I am doing what I typically choose not to. :/
