Michigan road repair
Jul. 16th, 2006 10:56 pmOr, should I say road removal?
For the last while, M14 has been under repair, and reduced to one lane both ways -- often with big backups. It is the main route from northern Detroit suburbs to Ann Arbor (M14 - US 23 south, to be exact). The usual alternate route, is to take I275 south to I94 west. So, the last couple evenings (at least) I275 south has been reduced to one lane(looks like for resurfacing, since I think I saw both an asphalt lifter machine & steam rollers on the other side as I drove north-bound), with some on/off ramps closed. Did noone think to coordinate the two repair jobs, so that the main alternate wouldn't be closed down, too? No, of course not.
So far, no solid plans for the week in Warren, other than making it back to Ann Arbor area for Tio's on Tuesday evening. Maybe get out climbing Wednesday or Thursday with renniekins, maybe gaming Friday with tammylc & eviljohn, but nothing solid, yet.
And, of course, Saturday I park the bike at elizilla's for a week, and hop on a plane for England.

From Warren could you take I-94 to Ann Arbor?
It looks like there is no major construction according to AAA.

The fun part will be traffic congestion in downtown Ann Arbor.

Going *to* Ann Arbor OTOH is frustrating no matter how you cut it. :/
But good news today was the other side of M14 was opened back up. Although I suspect soon the other side will be closed as ther tear that side up.
