late, but safe
May. 30th, 2006 12:48 ammoonlight_mile was right -- I got to spend 3 hours sitting in the plane on the tarmack at O'Hare waiting for the weather to clear through. Yuck. It also caused me to run out of reading material about 20 minutes outside of San Jose. Read one complete Economist and finished the book I brought, too. (Well, the on-plane book, I do have others.)
And, this was not my most organised trip -- I forgot a couple things I usually bring, including my portable music player, and my wallet of membership cards. Luckily the hotel clerk could look up my loyalty program number for me, here. Don't wanna miss any points, you know. I also forgot to print maps, so have actually had to write down the directions by hand -- though still used Google maps to figure them out.
And, I flew to California... too warm leaving Ottawa, chilly arriving in San Jose. Explain that. :)

Date: 2006-05-30 03:45 pm (UTC)I wound up shakily parking the bike late last night in a McDonald's in the middle of no and where, Ohio, and getting a taxi to the nearest motel. I'm certain that if I'd tried to keep riding, I would've crashed.
Woke up too damn early this morning, got a taxi back to the bike, rode the final hour and a half home. Got to work two hours or so late.
However, I feel very lucky to be alive right now. I'm glad you made it home safe, too! :)
