So, succulentpoet is leaving at the end of this month, and then leolac is leaving in June, and I've decided that is just enough. Well, too much actually. So...

Nobody else is allowed to leave Ottawa this year!

Here's hoping you have better luck with the tone required to make that kind of thing work. I've been saying that no one is allowed to get sick, but a number of people have been disobeying me!

Do you think it would have worked better if I'd used a bigger font? I could do that. Or if it was centered? Or maybe, if it was marquee (if LJ allows marquee tags)? Or maybe in a different colour?

Bigger font, definitely; centred, maybe; marquee, not even sure what that is. Colours, absolutely, but no more than two, or no one will take you seriously! ;-)

Pho in May sounds good. Lunch on Tuesday is definitely a plan. The one hitch is with the whole gang part of things. I want to first make clear, given your opening post, that A has not left Ottawa. She has, however, changed jobs and now works out of downtown. I will contact the rest of the gang.

Yes, and I know that will distress you, but I don't feel very close to Ali. I feel like I (and we, including leolac) have reached out to Ali a few times, invited her to things, and stuff like that -- and that she sometimes said yes, and enjoyed the things, but I don't feel like she ever reached back, sugggested things, etc. It felt very one-sided. So, I'm not going to be too broken up about her leaving.

Well, we will likely be in town as long as the company I'm with is successful, barring t-j getting some incredible opportunity somewhere that we could not turn down. I. can work pretty much anywhere so it's not as much a concern for her.

So, there you go! You are now emotionally invested in the success of the company I work for! :-)
