Work's take on my cancelling the business trip...

Admin Assitant: so we should cancel this week's training.
My boss: yes.
My boss: and we should probably come up with an internal policy about how much trainers can travel at one time.

Excellent! That's precisely the right response. Glad to hear it.

You mean, making you travel until you burn out&/or die isn't a policy?

It was an unfortunate accident of going from not-really-busy-enough to oh-my-god-why-does-everyone-want-training-right-now. So we were trying to get the training to customers, to see the revenue, and all that... and didn't really think through what it meant. Even I didn't really think through what the level of over-commitment meant, and say, "no, wait, this is too much".

Evolution in action.

I played a game of SPANC (Space Pirate Amazon Ninja Catgirls) with i_and_t once. One of the rules of that game is that you can't play with the poolboys until they break. A similar rule for trainers might be in order! ;-)

A disappointing rule in one way, but on the other hand, who wants a broken poolboy?

Poolboys, on the other hand ...

I like that rule, at least for trainers. ;)

You are up and lj-ing...are you feeling any better?

Yeah, I am.
