alphabet quiz meme
Mar. 3rd, 2004 08:29 pmStolen from mycrazyhair who claims to have stolen it from northbard:
A - Age: 36
B - Band listening to right now: The Animals, oops, now its Goo Goo Dolls, Cyndi Lauper, Duran Duran, ZZ Top, Foreigner, Blondie, Loreena McKennitt (this quiz took a while to finish)
C - Career future: Steady
D - Dad's name: Brian
E - Easiest person to talk to: Tough question. It is a category -- a casual friend with an overlapping interest, or interest in something I'm interested in, or especially something I care about, is generally the "easiest" person to talk to. (D, my partner, is probably the person to whom I can be most open and real, but that is usually enough work that it does not qualify as "easiest".)
F - Favorite song: I don't think I have such a thing.
G - Gummy Bears or Gummy Worms:Mmm... gummy things! Bears are more fun for impromptu surgery, and anatomical experimentation, so I think that tips things their way.
H - Hometown:Ottawa.
I - Instruments: CD player. Radio. Laptop.
J - Job: Trainer for an operating system company.
K - Kids: nope.
L - Longest car ride ever: Do motorcycle rides count? Is this single unbroken ride? Does stopping for gas, dinner, or overnight break it up? On the motorcycle: I've done Ottawa, ON to Duluth Minnesota (by way of Sault Ste Marie) in one day (approx 1600 km). (Then continued to Winnipeg the next morning.) I've also done Ann Arbor, Michigan (Detroitish) to south-east Ohio, played in the twisties, then on to Ottawa (also about 1600 km) in one run, too. I've done Ottawa to San Francisco over a period of 5 days, spent 5 days there (Confrancisco, '93 Worldcon), then come back home to Ottawa over the next 5 days -- about 5000 km each way. Have done a number of other longish motorcycle trips, too. As far as car... not sure... our familiy did a 5-week trip that went to the Pacific Rim (Vancouver Island) and back, driving all the way. I've done long (winter storm delayed) trips from Ottawa to Detroit (normally about 9 hours, but picked up an extra 5 or so on the weather), but don't think I've done quite the distance I've done on the bike.
M - Mom's name: Ann
N - No. of people you slept with: Define your terms! Does "slept with" mean "had sex with"? If so, that's just a start... but then you have to define "sex". No, it isn't clear. I'm not sure I have a clear definition, I've been in a couple situations where I'm not sure whether it would count as having sex or not. So, let's get back to just sleeping... does it require sharing a bed to count, or does sharing a hotel room or tent, but not bed, count? That's tricky, too. (Ask a poly person... see what you get.)
P - Phobia[s]: None that I know of.
Q - Quote: "Communicaiton, communication, communication"
R - Reason to smile: Motorcycle season is approaching.
S - Song you sang last: Devo - Working in the Coal Mine
T - Time you wake up: As late as possible. Been about 7:30am this week, but is directly driven by when I need to be standing in front of people talking.
U - Unknown fact about me: If I told you, it wouldn't be unknown.
V - Vegetable you hate: Lots of them. Brussel sprouts, asparagus, fiddleheads, for examples.
W - Worst habit: Procrastination. (But, I'm going to stop next week.)
X - X-rays you've had: Hm..the usual dentistry ones. Can't recall any others, but my luggage has been X-rayed a lot.
Y - Yummy food: Hm... curries, lasagna, Beef Stroganoff, lots of Mexican, Chinese, Indian, and deserts.
Z - Zodiac sign: Oh, for heaven's sake. Um. Sagitarius, I think.
