Booked flight to L.A., depart August 22nd, return August 28. (Seems this is a Wed-Sun worldon, not Thurs-Mon.)
Booked room for 22-28 at the Marriott. Discussed, but not confirmed, room share with kgkofmel, but she must check with markbhall first.

Room share is do-able, for sure. Is the Marriott the party hotel? You *will*, of course be drafted into helping with an ApolloCon room party, should we decide to do that...

No, the Marriott is the quiet hotel. Nights in the Marriott are $99/night 1-4 people. The party hotel is $129/night triple, $159/night quad, +$10/night if not in the first 600 rooms booked (bookings started Jan 1/2006).

I'd rather not pay the extra -- but if you people are intending to throw a party, you may want to be in the party hotel, and I could look for other room mates.

I am a gamer, and have considered Origins (and/or Gencon when it existed, does it still? I heard they merged at one point), but I don't go to conventions primarily to game. So, I may go to Cangames (gaming con in Ottawa) if it doesn't conflict with something), but probably not make the trek/pay the cost to go to Origins.
