I arrived in Vienna yesterday, found the hotel, napped, got up for hotel-restaurant dinner-time and found that the hotel restaurant was closed -- for reasons unclear to me. So, found an asian noodle restaurant about a block away. I love the no-tipping customs here -- the person at the restaurant tapped my credit-card to pay, and there wasn't even a chance for me to add a tip, she just gave me the receipt.
Today I left the hotel again!
After breakfast at 6:30, approaching 11 was feeling like lunch time. Since the hotel restaurant was closed yesterday, I wasn't sure if it would be closed today. Also, I wanted to pre-walk the route to the customer site to make sure I could find it, and see how close it was.
The customer site is about a 5 minute walk -- and is probably faster to get to on foot than by car. It would probably take me 5 minutes to get to my car in the parking garage and get it out again, actually.
And, nothing is open in Vienna -- at least this part -- on a Sunday morning. I finally found a street vendor selling kebabs and pizza, so had a chicken kebab sandwich for lunch. Sadly, no receipt from the street vendor, so I probably won't be able to charge the Euro 3.50 to work.
Also, I saw some old buildings, and some fancy buildings.
