How many people do you expect for gaming ?
Jul. 1st, 2015 10:42 pmPeople ask me that, often the first person or two to arrive, sometimes the day before. And I never know. Today, for example, I was expecting about one table's worth, until I had a cancellation from a pair, then thought I'd have barely a table (maybe 3). I ended up with 3 tables playing at the same time (9 people, plus someone hanging around) this afternoon, and even a table of 5 after dinner.
I played a couple hands of Lost Cities vs ironphoenix, losing both. Then 4-player Ora et Labora which, to my surprise, I ended up winning. I don't feel that I had a strategy, but I guess my good tactics won out. After dinner we played 5-player Princes of Florence. I acquired too many jesters too cheap, and won that handily as well.

Date: 2015-07-04 01:32 pm (UTC)The only thing that kept me afloat in that game of O&L was that I'm now pretty good at planning the layout of my buildings and settlements. Still, even that and a wonder wasn't quite enough!

Date: 2015-07-05 03:11 am (UTC)I still feel like I am wandering completely lost through a game of Ora et Labora, which is quite unusual for me after I've played a game a couple times. Apparently successful wandering, but still wandering lost.
