Cottage cleanup - planning thoughts
Oct. 13th, 2005 09:32 pmDepart Saturday October 22, return Sunday October 23.
People who have said they'd be there:me, Lorayne, leolac, con_girl, foms, ragnhildr, Michael from Michigan, my parents.
Possible: tangerine_jello (has had recent travel plans, I don't know if they will interfere, will update when I know.
con_girl has mentioned getting/renting a car; and having to come home Saturday evening to pill cat.
tangerine_jello has mentioned just being there during day on Saturday, and going home Saturday evening, too.
Michael will have a car, I will have a car.
I had been thinking to leave around 9-10am on Saturday, to arrive around 10:30-11:30. Then probably (depending on how breakfasted people are) grab lunch, and start working. Probably sandwiches for lunch.
My mom is cooking a turkey for dinner. I've given her approximate numbers (was 6-8 as I hadn't confirmed a couple people).
Figure bacon & eggs or maybe porridge for breakfast on Sunday. Preferences?
Probably left-over Turkey sandwiches for lunch on Sunday.
Head home before dinner on Sunday, to be back in Ottawa by dinner time, or so.
Would suggest:
work boots, or hiking boots if you have them
work gloves, if you have them. I'll be bringing some, too
heavy pants -- jeans are good
a heavy overshirt/sweater or jacket that will resist ripping. Or, something old that you don't mind getting ripped. Lots of grabby/scratchy branches when moving brush.
a good heavy sweater, a light sweater, a long-sleeved shirt, and maybe even a short-sleeved shirt. Layering is good, cause you'll probably start chilly, and get warmer with the work.
If you're brave, or a fish, a bathing suit and towel.
Thought: a game or two for the evening?
(Yes, it's me, of course I would think of gaming. :)
