Red Rocks - day 4: Birdland.
Dec. 12th, 2012 10:01 pmToday was an awesome, very successful, day of climbing. We went after Birdland, a classic 5-pitch nearly 500' long climb. Pitches (nominally) went at: 5.6, 5.7, 5.7+, 5.6, 5.7+ though the first pitch was more like 5.4+ - 5.5. Mike lead the first (easy) pitch, and I lead the rest. I was happy with the climbing, and the leading -- though I did drop a nut while placing it. It was, though, such a lucky day that Mike spotted it as we were starting to hike out. Also, we had the climb to ourselves, which I understand is unusual for a Red Rocks classic like Birdland.
