post-cottage report
Jul. 3rd, 2012 10:11 amGetting home late, getting shopping done, etc meant I wasn't quite as organised going up to the cottage as normal. On top of that, there was some "who's driving whom" chaos at the last minute as one of my Friday evening lifts and the backup both cancelled for Friday evening. Still, everyone who was going to the cottage got there in a reasonable time. Just some of the stuff got delayed. (And, a whole bunch of stuff is still at the cottage -- I'm going to have to do another run, probably Wednesday evening, to pick stuff up.)
I think mostly people had a good time, though it sounds like a couple people became unwell by the end of the weekend.
I enjoyed myself. A new thing for me, I had a few climbers up this year and I did a bunch of rock climbing. I'm not sure how well this integrates with regular cottage stuff -- next year I may have to limit the useage of the canoes, as we did kind of monopolize them during the day.
I also got a few games in, had some good food, and otherwise enjoyed myself.
Unfortunately, it looks like someone scraped the back left bumper of my car on the way out. Not major damage, but a bunch of paint scraped off and some scratches on the cover for the brake/turn light.

Date: 2012-07-03 04:00 pm (UTC)The weather was pretty much perfect. From a hang about the cottage person, I didn't notice much difference between climbing and hiking - you are all away when the weather's great. This is the first year in awhile when there has been no rain. More canoes would be great but not necessary.
