I had a good week in Toronto, seeing a few friends and teaching for a couple days in Mississauga. I think had a nigh-completely waste-of-time trip to Michigan. *sigh*

On the way home, though, I got a chance to see my sister (Jenny) in Hamilton for lunch, and that was cool. And, once home, Pho and drinks with 3/4 of Flail (well only 1/2 for Pho) was quite a nice way to return to the city. And, because of the chilly evening, we had the first fire of the season.

Then, today, was a gorgeous day to be outside, and I spent it climbing up at Lac Sam. I continue to find gorgeous climbs with lovely views. THe rock, of course, is covered in lichen and there is lots of loose rock to keep things exciting -- but the climbing is good. Today we found a few tougher routes -- some vertical and even a bit overhanging in places climbing, rather than the mostly slabbly (less than vertical) climbing we've mostly found there.

And, tomorrow, off to the USofA again. Columbus, Ohio area this time.

Glad you had a good weekend, and bon voyage!

When you're back in town, we should do lunch... I seldom get to see you these days!

Sunday I was up in Farrelton to do orienteering at the Ark retreat thingie. I agree, it was most gorgeous weather! Any amount of exertion banished the chilliness, and the sun warmed things up nicely. There were some nice bare rock faces that made me think of you. Though I doubt any of it was either climbable, or a challenge. :)

Yeah, lunch would be good. Hm... Mon Sep 26th could work, or Mon-Thur, Oct 3-6 could work.

What with my travel, and climbing when I'm in town, yeah. I need to do some gaming -- but that can wait for bad weather. Climbing... well, can't do it in the winter. :)

"not climbable" and "not a challenge" tend to be at opposite ends of the spectruum of rock faces.

I know. I obviously lack judgment in these things, but from the various photos of places you climbed, it was quite different, and likely on one of those two extremes. Likely too small to be fun. (Also, tons of conifers right below and above.)

I have a meeting scheduled from 11am-noon on the 26th. I could make 12:15. Which, I know, means we hit the rush at the usual place, and parking would be horrible. Still, could work -- or the following week, I don't currently have meetings that close to lunch.

Glad that you're having a good time.

Happy that I'll probably see you in a tad less than 2 weeks!
