This hotel has a "manager's reception" from 5:30-7:30pm, which has snacks and "happy hour" at the bar... their definition of "happy hour" isn't 1/2 price or cheap drinks,. but free drinks.  (With a footnote to drink responsibly.)  Free booze!?!?!?!  Who's going to drink responsibly???

Um... but... I have work I need to do some of these evenings. 

Maybe not tonight, though. :)  Cause the bar tender was pouring generously, too.  And, I had sojou with my dinner.  Oops?

Definitely no work tonight. :)

It isn't so much and as therefor. Because of free booze, I won't be able to get any (useful) work done tonight. :)

This is an Embassy Suites. It happens to be in Irvine, California. Don't know if all Embassy Suites do things this way, or just this one. Last one I stayed at (two weeks ago, I think) had such a reception -- but I didn't make it to the reception.
