Man. Fuck Cancer
Aug. 6th, 2011 07:28 pmA friend of mine in Michigan was in surgery on Thursday to have a mass removed from her abdomen. After the surgery, it turned out it was cancerous. So she's now going to have to do chemo. Again. Last time was 10 years ago.

Date: 2011-08-07 01:33 am (UTC)My dad's had 2 kinds of cancer in the past 8 yrs. The first time around it was prostate cancer. He was told up until this past yr, that he was cancer free and then he had a pain in his side. He went to the dr's and they discovered something on this other side, which turned out to be pancreatic cancer (the better of the 2). He's cancer-free once again.
Then of course right after that, he ends up with a hernia. *facepalm* He just had surgery to remove that, a week ago this past Thursday. It's the 2nd time he's had a hernia.
We just keep our fingers crossed and hope for the best.

Date: 2011-08-07 02:36 am (UTC)There has been an innovation where people can now keep their hair when having chemo. It may sound trivial, but it's actually really wonderful that they are doing that now. If your friend is interested in the idea, I can link the information about it.
