Good day of climbing
Jul. 25th, 2011 12:22 amIt was, surprisingly, not overwhelmingly hot. I guess I could have checked the weather report -- I just expected the stinking hot to continue, but it didn't.
Got a friend of mine out for her 2nd ever time on rock (first was Saturday, she started climbing about 2 weeks ago) and she did awesome. Celine brought along a friend, too -- and she was strong, but really scared of heights, and it really affected her climbing. She muscled up a lot of stuff, scrabbling her feet, because she was too scared of heights to be able to look down at all, so couldn't look down to place her feet better.
I didn't climb anything impressively hard, at least not new and hard -- got a better run up a nice 5.10b that might go clean after another try or two, though. But, it was just a pleasant day of climbing. (And of instructing newbies.)
