After 4 days of climbing, I'm taking a rest day. Of course, a "rest day" means that I have hiked down 300m, taken the teleferique (cable car) down into the valley and walked in to town - about 1.5 km and another 100m down. Then, after shopping and such I will go back up that, so 400m down and up and about 5km of hiking is the rest day.
The Alps are awesome -- the climbing is impressive. I have done lots of stuff that left me thinking I would die, and almost died once when I slipped near the top of mountain. We were doing some "easy" stuff, that is so long that it just is not worth roping for, even if a slip could mean you would tumble a few 100 meters down the mountain.
I have been taking a bunch of pictures, not sure how many are going to be worth looking at, but I should end up with something of a picture show.
