Amusing translation oops...
May. 6th, 2009 12:13 amI'm reading through the rules to Cannes - Stars, Scripts, and Screens. There are three types of movies you can make: Sci-Fi movies, Action movies, and Girlie movies. I'm pretty sure they mean something like "chic-flics" not "girlie movies". :) (The German categories are: Science-Fiction-Filme, Action-Filme, and Teenie-Komodien (with an umaut over the 2nd o).)

I remember that one of my dance teachers, years ago, had a t-shirt she loved, that was made in Japan. it was back when there was a trend for t-shirts to have random words about a subject to be pasted over the front of the shirt. Hers was about Canada. un/fortunately, hers had the words Spread and Beaver juxtaposed in large font, right in the center of it. it amused me greatly.
