ilanikhan and beable came over this afternoon for a game of Through the Ages. This went quite smoothly, finishing up around 5:30pm. After this, we decided to head out for Pho, and I called commodorified and invited her to join us. We had food, then wandered back to my place for tea & cookies & social. It turned into a very pleasant evening.

We contemplated port, but determined that while I had three bottles of port, they were all too fancy for anything but a port party. So, it seems I must hold a port party soon.

Tonight we used my new port/sherry glasses for Emu port, which some guest had brought me. It was potable; perhaps my skepticism stems from a really bad Emu sherry 10 years ago. Should I have hid it in embarassment instead of serving it?

Well, it's better than Bright's 51.

I had some at my first port tasting, many years ago, I wouldn't serve it to my friends. But it is to some peoples palette. My dad, for example, likes it. (Then again, he doesn't want to develop a taste for better stuff, because then it would cost him more to drink his port.) It wasn't actively hostile -- just very simple.

I would certainly appreciate a port party.
