Yet another rock climbing gym

dagibbsWent out to the local rock-climbing gym this evening. Despite their web-site saying that anyone who is going to climb there must take their belaying course, the guy at the desk just said that he'd trust I know how to belay if I said I did. I think, in fact, this is the first gym (of 21 I've climbed at) where they didn't do some sort of belay test/check/lesson as a mandatory thing.
I did a bit of bouldering, then noticed a young woman who was alone and didn't look exactly comfortable with bouldering, said hello, and she said she didn't feel comfortable not having a rope. So asked about climbing with her, and we ended up climbing for the rest of the evening. We enjoyed climbing together, and arranged to meet again at the gym on Friday. w00t!
Their grades are a little soft compared to Coyote, since I did a 5.10d near the end of the evening with one fall-off. It felt like about a 5.10a, maybe 5.10b, at Coyote. Otherwise a pretty nice gym -- not maybe quite as much horizontal wall space as Coyote, but about 50% more vertical, which was nice.
