Had a good evening

Had a good evening last night.

Started with a good dinner at an Indian restaurant with ragnhildr. After dinner we were headed over to foxyfiles's place for some Texas Hold'em poker -- but the poker didn't start until 8pm, and we were done dinner around 6:30pm. So, with an hour to kill I suggested that Chapters would be a good place to kill time. Good, yes. Dangerous to the credit card -- defintely. We, of course, visitted the sf/fantasy section and found some stuff. Then we were mostly done, but with 10 minutes to go, I said... let's go look at the discount books section. Oops. We ended up (a bit) late for the poker. I ended up spending almost $100 (would have been more, but Chapters card discount kept it under $100) and ragnhildr escaped around the $40 mark.

Then, the expensive poker game. I lost all my chips, again. This time Luc took them, rather than jacomothefool. Still, a thoroughly good time was had by all. I think I'll keep coming back.

Think how much cheaper the evening would have been had the poker started at 7! Cool books though!

I had a good time with the card sharks, too. Luc didn't get my $5 without a fight! ;-)

Face it Gibbs - the only one of your friends that you could reasonably be expected to beat at any version of poker* is me - and I'm not stupid enough to play! :p

con_girl was very mean, and claimed we were not fit to be allowed out unsupervised.

Actually, if it is the scrounging for pennies to buy books at Arisia story -- where the room did, actually, calling out to you to buy books -- then, yes, she did tell me the story. In fact, it was in the context of the visit to Chapters.

We were so pathetic it was funny. We could have passed for book junkies "I gotta have my book fix man, how much have you got?". Oh wait, I AM a book junkie!
