Too busy to post
Mar. 20th, 2008 11:46 pmUsually when I'm on a business trip I'm left with lots of spare time, which tends to lead to much posting on LJ, but not this week. Where I've been working, they haven't had any internet access for guests like me, so I haven't been able to sneak online while they're doing exercises or anything handy like that. And, I've been busy most evenings, so my online time has gotten squeezed, and I've mostly just been keeping up with my usual reading stuff.
Sunday evening, when I arrived, I had dinner with elizilla. Monday, St Patrick's day party hosted by Caryn. Tuesday, visited with
rainbowravenx and Amy, taught Amy how to belay and tie-in for climbing and reviewed it with Bella, too. Then, Tio's where I picked up my Tanga stuff from
eviljohn and also grabbed a jar of #4 for
commodorified. Wednesday was dinner then climbing with Bella and Amy, where they pointed out the Ann Arbor liquor store which was near the climbing gym. Today, I dropped in there on the way to climbing with
renniekins looking for a bottle of old port, and they referred me to their other location. So after on the way home, I checked out their other location and picked up a bottle of port for comodorified.
Climbing both days was quite excellent, though unfortunately the gym had recently had a competition and didn't have many routes as choices in the 5.6-5.8 range, which restricted the choice for the people I was climbing with. They had a good selection of 5.9s and 5.10s, so I still had a bunch of good climbing. (In fact, no marked 5.6 or lower routes, 2 5.7 routes, one 5.8 route, and one 5.8+ route that I think was really a solid 5.9.) Everyone I climbed with did climb well, and challenged themselves. Renniekins did get to go flying at one point, though, when I missed a big lunge move.
And, tomorrow morning I head for home -- hopefully the flight will be smooth. I've got nothing planned for tomorrow evening, maybe I need a quiet evening? And, I still need to pack and get ready to leave for tomorrow morning. Saturday and Sunday this weekend are booked, though. Then Monday is back to work and my regular life. I should be in Ottawa for a few weeks, though, except for Ad Astra.
