dinner with Talyen and dangerous location

I arranged to meet talyen in Indianapolis for dinner today, for 7pm. I got to the restaurant a bit early -- about 6:30pm -- and as I was walking up to the restaurant noticed there was a game store right next door. Hey... there's a good way to kill some time, I'll just wander in and look around. Oops. 2 games later...

I had a wonderful visit with talyen over Indian food. We ordered "medium", but really it was very mild. I think, though, we did order dishes that were inherently mild in their basic spicing and style, so that might have been part of the effect. It was good to see her again, it has been since January.

Left for tonight is packing -- I'm changing hotels (to one by the airport) tomorrrow, catching up on my comics, and checking and catching up on my work email. No hurry. ;)

This has been a bad trip for purchases, though. Actually... I've been buying more stuff on trips to the US lately, I think maybe it is the difference in the dollar -- not having to mentally mark everything up 50% really makes prices more reasonable.

Dude! Indiana! Of course it was mild. :-) (I'm just going with the stereotype. My only personal experience with that part of the world is driving through it on the way from one coast to the other several times in the 80s.)

Whereas our trip to TO next month is going to be a lot less spendy than usual. Sigh.
